Reedsport sits right on Highway 101, where it meets Highway 38 along the banks of the Umpqua River — about 3 hours from Portland and under 2 hours from Eugene by car. If you're coming from I-5, Highway 38 is the popular scenic route into town: it splits off near Cottage Grove and follows the Umpqua River for about 57 miles, passing through Drain and Elkton before ending right here in Reedsport. Keep an eye out for Roosevelt elk along the way. There's no rail or commercial air service to the area, so a car is essential — and pack rain gear if you're visiting between October and May.
